Costs are
always a factor in the non-profit world. The reasons for
hiring an outside consultant or contractor are to either enhance
your current business practices and success, or to save money over
hiring a staff person to do similar tasks... or both.
I keep the costs of my services simple and affordable.
$45 per hour for
standard services.
(advanced services are quoted individually)
An initial "discovery" discussion of your needs is
FREE (up to 30 minutes).
Guarantee - I stand behind all
my work. If you aren't completely satisfied, simply return all
work-product and I will refund your consulting fees (minus any
material cost). If you are satisfied then all work produced by
me becomes your property upon completion of the project and final
payment is received.
Time Estimates - I'm happy to
provide a ballpark estimate of how much time a project will take.
This will be based on known factors coming from your organization
and my past experience working on a similar project. Note
however that it is only an estimate. If things change such as
the scope of the project, etc, then the time and costs will change.
I always work to be as efficient as possible for every client,
knowing how your budget is always a priority factor.
With good planning and organization, many
things need not take a long time to produce. A nice,
straight-forward website can be put together in a number of hours.
A set of documents for an event such as a poster, invitation, reply
card, etc can sometimes be completed in a few hours time. And
time spent finding ways to improve your practices to increase your
income and your patron base will almost always pay for itself.
Travel and lodging - most of the work I can do for
organizations nearby or across the country can be done via email, phone and fax. However, if a
project requires me to visit your site, work in-person with your
staff or board and/or have a hands-on relationship with your
organization or facility, then the travel and lodging expenses will
be paid by you as well as a per diem dependent on circumstances, and
to be agreed upon. We can work together to make it all as affordable
as possible. I'm happy to discuss staying in your board
member's guest room as well.
Ideas to handle costs - Many organizations pay for
consulting services via grants or sponsor underwriting. Be
creative in how you find the funds. Ask your board members to
donate their frequent flyer miles to cover airline travel. You
might find that hiring me could cost you nothing but some legwork,
and we'll work together to quantify the results. You'll
usually find that the results cover the costs of my work, and a lot
more.
Referral Credit - Since the
majority of my clients come to me via referrals, I'd like to offer
you a benefit for sending me other possible clients. If your
organization refers a client to me and that translates into 4 hours
of services for that client, I will credit your organization for 1
hour of time. Just tell your referral to mention that you sent
them to me.
Payment - is accepted via check,
money order, cashier's check, Paypal (visa, mastercard, e-check,
etc)
